Nectar Ales was founded in 1987 in Humboldt County as one of California’s —and the nation’s— pioneering microbrewers. Leading with its unique Red Nectar ale, Nectar Ales helped blaze the microbrew trail and is today regarded as a true California classic.
Under the founding slogan “All Natural Ales,” the beers of Nectar Ales are brewed with all-natural ingredients, including the finest hops and malted barley. At all points in the brewing process, careful attention is paid to craft ales of extraordinary flavor, character and pure naturalness —the achievement of great taste.
Owned by Total Beverage Solution since 2012 and brewed on California’s Central Coast since 2003, Nectar Ales is ultimately defined its tradition of world-class quality, which resulted in Nectar Ales being declared “Mid-Size Brewing Company of The Year” at the 2003 Great American Beer Festival, with Nectar IPA being awarded the lone gold medal in its category.
Nectar Ales Head Brewer Matt Brynildson was named Mid-Size Brewing Company Brewmaster of the Year at the 2003 & 2007 Great American Beer Festival and Champion Brewmaster for Mid-Size Brewing Company at the 2004 & 2006 World Beer Cup.
